Neko and Michael Showalter will join Katherine Lanpher to discuss and perform their work for "Upstairs at the Square" at Barnes & Noble Union Square in New York on February 24th at 7:00pm sharp.

"Upstairs at the Square,” described by Daily Candy as “an awesome literary salon on a date with an intimate rock concert,” will feature comedian, actor (Wet Hot American Summer, The Baxter, The State), and writer Michael Showalter and a 3-song performance by Neko, whose latest album is the Grammy-nominated Middle Cyclone. Ms. Lanpher will interview both artist. The show marks the launch of Showalter’s national tour for his memoir, Mr. Funny Pants (Grand Central Publishing, February 22). After some unforeseen technical difficulties, we have re-scheduled the drawing dates and are beginning a raffle anew over here! Grammy-nominated musician Neko Case will give away her beloved classic 1967 Mercury Cougar to one lucky winner to benefit 826 National in her drawing, the Cougar-Rama Muscle Car-'Splosion. Beginning on Monday, March 14, 2011, 826 National will draw a prize a day for five other lucky winners, and the car will be drawn on Friday, March 18, 2011.

The burgundy-colored Cougar is featured on Case’s Grammy-nominated album cover Middle Cyclone. Commencing on Monday, February 14, 2011 and closing to the lucky drawing winner on Friday, February 18, 2011 the Mercury Cougar-Rama Muscle Car-‘Splosion will feature the muscle car filled with road trip goodies— Rand McNally guides, dinner for ten at Chipotle, a year’s supply of Tazo Tea, and much, much more.
