TOUR DIARY #5: LODO FESTIVAL

Denver, CO
We rolled up to the hotel at 9am . We felt like ass. Sleeping time was nigh. We had a pretend soundcheck at 2:30pm, then on stage at 8pm. The monitors were not on. They were fucked for most of the show. I felt very uncomfortable and then to make things worse, I knocked my guitar over. Ouch.

Luckily there were lots of nice people in the audience who told us they had a good time. It was nice to see some Tacomans in the audience as well!!!! Hi Laura and Robin. Things were looking up after our set because Los Lobos were going on at 10:15pm a couple stages over. They went on about an hour late but it was worth it. The crowd didn't mind even though the cruel soundman punished them with the "powerstation" era of Robert Palmer's career at ear-damaging volume while they waited so patiently. A serious infringement upon their human rights. Los Lobos made it all better though. They were fantastic! They always give me hope for the state of music. It's also inspiring to see such a large crowd of people loving them so much. They make me feel all calm and fuzzy. I wish they were my dad, which is a little confusing cause I also find David Hidalgo extremely foxy. I'm going to go call my psychiatrist.
