TOUR DIARY #24: I'M ALWAYS HUNGRY II

The universal favorite vegetarian resturant.............Cafe Mosaics in lovely Edmonton, Alberta Canada.

Three hot Ukrainian sisters and their hot mom make you food of the gods. They play great music! They have cola! They have excellent T-shirts. They bathrooms are always clean! The highlights are the “Tofu Club Sandwich” and the food that renders mortals weak: The “Green Onion Cake”!! I can eat a whole plate myself. The “Apple Chutney” is the balls! I love you Café Mosaics! I wish I lived next door!

Chocolate cake!!!!!! THE BEST EVER!!!! It’s in Ashland, OR at a cute diner right off Exit 14 (on I-5) called “The Wild Goose.” All the food at the Goose is good, and they are kind enough to be open until Midnight. It’s the halfway food oasis between Portland and San Francisco. If you are a vegetarian, this place will save your ass. If you’re not, the yummy meat will delight you. Anyway, back to the cake…a guy named Drew, who supposedly plays upright bass makes it. I’d punch my own granny for a piece. It’s the best I’ve ever had. It’s bundt-shaped and ridiculously fine. Dense and soft, not too sweet with crack-like chocolate icing, that’s the part that turns you into a drooling addict. (I’m being very careful with my chocolate adjectives, those “Death By Chocolate” office Xerox copies are one of my big pet peeves, makes my blood boil. You’d think I’d have better things to get make about, like animals wearing sunglasses….). Please do yourself a favor go to Ashland and have some. It’s the Holy Roman Empire of Cake. Thanks Drew! You make many people happy.

Buddhist vegetarian!!!! The finest I’ve sampled is at the Bo Kong Restaurant in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It’s at 15th and Main. My favorite thing is the “Bean Curd Skin Roll in Black Bean Sauce.” Make sure you order the “Pea Tips.” Also, you will feel like Popeye. I love the waitstaff too! If you’re there with Paul Rigby, you can watch him drink four Cokes and exclaim, “This is amaaaazing!” every few minutes.
